Only One Ingredient Will Prevent Wrinkles And Stop Sagging Skin

Facelift Alternatives to Keep You Young Without Going Under the Knife

A few decades ago, the only solution to sagging skin and severe wrinkles was a little nip and not-so-little tuck. While traditional surgical facelifts can shave years (if not decades) off of your face, many women today aren’t looking for the tightly pulled faces that were once so in demand. These days, women prefer to age (somewhat) more gracefully—trading scalpels for needles and electric currents. And rightfully so. With the advances being made in anti-ageing technology today, the need for traditional surgery is almost nonexistent. There are a variety of facelift alternatives that deliver youthful results comparable to surgery, minus the risks and considerable downtime.

Radiofrequency Facelift

Non-surgical facelifts that use radiofrequency energy are actually using heat to tighten and rejuvenate your skin’s collagen structure. But unlike Thermage or Aluma, ThermiTight, the newest procedure to employ the technology, doesn’t topically treat the skin with radio frequency. “Previous non-invasive devices have required multiple treatments and deliver unpredictable results because they solely applied heat to the outside surface of the skin,” New York City-based facial plastic surgeon Dr. Yael Halaas says. “ThermiTight delivers a precise dose of radio frequency waves through a tiny probe that is inserted under the skin.”

ThermiTight requires just one minimally invasive tissue-tightening treatment. You may experience mild swelling for up to a week, but Dr. Halaas says most patients return to work the next day. You’ll notice a small difference right away, with additional improvements seen after six to 12 weeks. According to Dr. Halaas, the results can last several years. “Anyone struggling with loose, sagging skin or unwanted pockets of fat is an excellent candidate for a ThermiTight procedure.”

Microcurrent Facelift

Microcurrent facelifts deliver low levels of electrical stimulation to the muscles of the face, which stimulates the body’s collagen and elastin production, reduces fine lines and wrinkles, firms and smoothes skin, and improves skin tone. Because of its ability to regenerate tissue by stimulating cellular physiology (a reaction that slows as we age), microcurrent facelifts like the Bio-Ultimate Face Lift are effective at lifting sagging muscles, filling in wrinkles, and rebuilding thinned out parts of the face.

The Bio-Ultimate Face Lift is a painless, non-invasive procedure with no downtime. A typical course of a treatment consists of six to 12 hour-long sessions, spaced out on a weekly or biweekly basis, with follow-up sessions every six to eight weeks. The results are immediate and cumulative. After the first treatment you’ll notice your skin is rehydrated and revitalized, and you’ll continue to see further improvements with treatment thereafter.

Liquid Facelift

Liquid facelift is the term used to describe injectables. But the latest option available is not your basic hyaluronic acid filler that you get with Juvaderm or Restylane. Sculptra is not a wrinkle filler, but a bio activator or volume enhancer. “It works to stimulate our own body’s fibroblasts to produce collagen,” says Dr. Peter L. Kopelson, a specialist in cosmetic dermatology and laser aesthetics in Beverly Hills, California. “So it’s not a substance that is injected to fill; it is injected to stimulate.”

With Sculptra you’ll generally have three treatments done at monthly intervals, consisting of a few injections to the areas that need to be voluminized. There is no downtime, although you run the risk of bruising with any procedure that involves needles. Dr. Kopelson says you’ll begin to see results after the second treatment and your doctor will finesse the effects during the following treatment. Sculptra has a longer lifespan than other injectables. “It is also a great product because of its sustainability,” Dr. Kopelson says. “Most filler substances last a year at most.
